چکیده

Abstract The work presented here focused on the extraction of gold (Au), silver (Ag) and palladium (Pd) from electronic waste using a solution ammonium thiosulfate. Thiosulfate was used as valid alternative to cyanide for precious metal extractions, due its non-toxicity high selectivity. interactions between sodium thiosulfate, total ammonia/ammonium, concentrations particle size printed circuit boards (WPCBs) were studied by response surface methodology (RSM) principal component analysis (PCA) maximize mobilization. Au reached efficiency with granulometry less than 0.25 mm, but consumption reagents high. On other hand, Ag depended neither thiosulfate/ammonia concentration nor WPCBs it showed 90% also biggest (0.50 < Ø 1.00 mm). Pd extraction, similarly Au, best smallest medium WPCB sizes, required compared Au. results that leaching is complex process (mainly which requires more severe conditions in order achieve efficiencies) correlated reagent concentrations, sizes. These have great potentiality, suggesting possibility selective recovery metals based different WPCBs. Furthermore, efficiencies obtained all bode well perspective large-scale applications.

Recovery of high purity precious metals from printed circuit boards.

Waste printed circuit boards (WPCB) have an inherent value because of the precious metal content. For an effective recycling of WPCB, it is essential to recover the precious metals. This paper reports a promising method to recover the precious metals. Aqua regia was used as a leachant and the ratio between metals and leachant was fixed at 1/20 (g/ml). Silver is relatively stable so the amount o...

A Novel Designed Bioreactor for Recovering Precious Metals from Waste Printed Circuit Boards

For recovering precious metals from waste printed circuit boards (PCBs), a novel hybrid technology including physical and biological methods was developed. It consisted of crushing, corona-electrostatic separation, and bioleaching. Bioleaching process is the focus of this paper. A novel bioreactor for bioleaching was designed. Bioleaching was carried out using Pseudomonas chlororaphis. Bioleach...

Leaching studies for metals recovery from printed circuit boards scrap

In this paper, the leaching behavior of the major metals present in printed circuit boards waste is evaluated, aiming at its recycling by hydrometallurgy. Several leachants were compared (sulfuric, hydrochloric and nitric acids, at 2 M H concentration), at temperatures of 25oC and 90oC and 4 hours of reaction time. Sulfuric acid leaching was not very promising concerning metals dissolution bein...

LEACHING OF METALS FROM WASTE PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARDS (WPCBs) USING SULFURIC AND NITRIC ACIDS

This study aims to understand the acid-leaching behavior of metals from 2 to 4 mm waste printed circuit boards (WPCBs) containing 22.0% ± 1.1 Cu, 6.7% ± 0.2 Ca, 0.68% ± 0.02 Sn, 0.59 ± 0.01 % Pb, 2.71% ± 0.08 Al, 0.22% ± 0.01 Fe, etc.. Copper leaching was increased for sulfuric acid concentrations up to 1.2 mol/L and hydrogen peroxide concentrations of 10.0 vol% for a pulp density of 100 g/L at...

Recovery of metals from waste printed circuit boards by supercritical water pre-treatment combined with acid leaching process.

Waste printed circuit boards (PCBs) contain a large number of metals such as Cu, Sn, Pb, Cd, Cr, Zn, and Mn. In this work, an efficient and environmentally friendly process for metals recovery from waste PCBs by supercritical water (SCW) pre-treatment combined with acid leaching was developed. In the proposed process, waste PCBs were pre-treated by SCW, then the separated solid phase product wi...
